Expect giveaways and prizes, real pizza by the slice, and, of course, Not Pizza drink specials all night long.

See ya there!

Plot Twist: The Year We Stick With Our Resolutions

Small businesses, big motivation.

New Year’s resolutions are easy to make and even easier to break. In fact, most people quit by mid-January! The good news? Phoenixville’s local businesses can help you stay on track in 2026.

Resolution #1: Move More (& Maybe Actually Enjoy It?)

Whether you’re looking to get strong, stretch more, or get 10k steps/day, mixing up your movements can help a ton with sticking to your goals.

  • The Gym & Crossfit Alcides: Located near the Greater Philly Expo Center, the Gym recently completed a major expansion project, so gymgoers have even more room to * bad Schwarzenegger impression * pump iron. 2026 deal: New members get the month of January free!

  • Get 10k Steps Without Freezing: The cold weather can make reaching your step goal feel impossible, but did you know walking the entire KOP mall is approximately 8.5k steps? Pro tip: Leave your credit cards at home…

Resolution #2: Read More

Because nothing breaks you out of a reading slump faster than good, old fashioned peer pressure. Reads & Company hosts monthly book groups covering all sorts of genres. The groups are free to attend and all book group picks are available at Reads & Company for 20% off.

  • Big Reads Book Group: Let the pros handle this one. This group is always led by a different bookseller from Reads, so you know it’ll be great.

    • Wed Jan 7th, 7pm

    • Reading: A Guardian and a Thief by Megha Majumdar

  • International Voices Book Group: Want to impress your friends? Tell them you’re in an international book group.

    • Wed Jan 14th, 7pm

    • Reading: Death and the Penguin by Andrey Kurkov (Ukraine)

  • Kiss and Tell Romance Book Group: Get ready to swoon! This book group only covers the most romantic books.

    • Wed Jan 21st, 7pm

    • Reading: Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

  • What's the Tea? Book Club: Dive into captivating queer stories (fiction and non-fiction) that may provide insight, laughter, and plenty of tea.

    • Wed Jan 28th, 7pm

    • Reading: In Tongues by Thomas Grattan

Quitter’s Day, or the day almost everyone gives up on their resolutions, is on Friday January 9th, 2026. Let our local businesses help you glide right past it!

Give Back: Phoenixville Area Senior Center Volunteering

Help us celebrate our seniors!

Looking for a meaningful way to give back locally this month? The Phoenixville Area Senior Center is always looking for friendly faces to help support programs, events, and daily activities for our senior community. A little time goes a long way, and you just might make someone’s whole day! Get started here.

First Look: What’s Next at Rivertown Taps

Spoiler Alert: It’s delicious

Our friends at Rivertown Taps are kicking off 2026 with a new menu, and you’re getting a sneak peek here. Chef Lewis Leiterman and the RTT team have been hard at work perfecting these new dishes and are ready for you to try them out. Some items on the new menu include an agnolotti (filled pasta) with honey nut squash and pistachio, a light and crispy fritto misto, and a take on arancini we’ll bet you haven’t seen before.

The new menu launches Wednesday Jan 7th. Grab a reservation ASAP!

Adoptable Pup of the Month

Let’s get Panda to her furever family!

About Panda: This sweet, playful girl has the cutest black-and-white face (We can see where she got her name from)! She loves cuddles, toys, and hanging out with her people, especially if there’s another friendly dog around to help boost her confidence. Also cat-friendly.

  • Location: To Love a Canine Rescue

  • Age: Almost 2 (She’s a Pisces!)

  • Breed: Unknown (but cute) mix

  • Size: 40 lbs

Historian’s Corner: The Phoenix Wheel

A piece of Phoenixville history is coming home.

The Phoenix Wheel rebuild is underway next to Phoenixville Borough Hall (yes, that’s what the construction is for), but how much do you actually know about it? The wheel has been on quite a journey, almost cinematic in its quest to get home. Built by the Phoenix Iron and Steel Company in 1895, the Phoenix Wheel is one of the town’s most remarkable creations. The best-known wheel stood 72 feet tall in Asbury Park, NJ, where it operated from 1895 to 1989 before spending years with a Mississippi carnival. Restoration efforts began in 1998, and now, more than a century later, the Phoenix Wheel is finally coming home for good.

Thanks to Ryan Conroy for this month’s local history fact. For more, follow Ryan on Instagram @ConroysConvoy or attend his upcoming Sip of History event, details below:

  • What: Sundry Speakeasy’s Sip of History

  • When: Sat Jan 17th, 2pm & 4pm

  • Where: The Loading Dock, 400 Franklin Ave, Phoenixville

Day Trip: Kennett Square, PA

How ya like them mushrooms?

Did you know the Mushroom Capital of the World is less than an hour from Phoenixville? Yup, Kennett Square is internationally known (for more than Longwood Gardens).

We recommend grabbing a coffee from Philter, strolling through the shops on State Street, then heading into the Market at Liberty Place for lunch. If you’re hanging around until dinner, then we recommend grabbing a reservation at Portabellos. And yes, the menu features an unbelievable amount of mushrooms.

Bonus points if you make an appointment to see the adoptable cats at Treetops Kitty Cafe!

Location: Kennett Square, PA 19348

Local Artist Spotlight: Anna Spackman

You might recognize Anna Spackman from Forever Changes Vinyl Lounge, but she’s also a local singer-songwriter making warm, soulful folk music full of great stories and heart. Very Phoenixville, in the best way. We recommend listening to the song The Heron, from her Precipice album.

Subscribe to Anna’s Substack here for the latest & greatest updates.
