Historian’s Corner: PXV’s Underground Railroad
For Black History Month, local historian Ryan Conroy is exploring Phoenixville’s involvement in the Underground Railroad. In the first History on the Rocks event of 2026, Ryan will answer your top Underground Railroad questions and more, including which local buildings were utilized, which neighbors were involved, and what was our town’s overall role in supporting freedom seekers in plain sight.

Featured Day Trip: Fire & Ice Festival in Skippack Village
Soon, the charming village of Skippack will transform into a jaw dropping winter wonderland for its annual Fire & Ice Festival. Expect more than 20 intricate ice sculptures, live DJs, glassblowing demos, fire dancers, s’mores pits, and even an LED drone show lighting up the night, with plenty of shops and food stops to warm up in between.
It’s an easy, under-30-minute drive from Phoenixville, making it a perfect excuse to bundle up, get out, and soak in a little winter magic…especially for locals still missing the Firebird.

Local Artist Spotlight: Todd Stofflet of Forge Mountain Woodworking
This month, we’re featuring Todd Stofflet, the local craftsman behind Forge Mountain Woodworking. Todd hand-builds each of his pieces with care, skill, and a deep respect for the wood, and his portfolio ranges from kitchen cabinetry to very comfortable-looking chairs.
Todd is donating a handcrafted item to the 23rd Annual A Play With a Purpose live auction on Tuesday Feb 23rd, benefiting Citizen Advocacy of Chester County.
Adoptable Dog: Bear 🐻
If you’re looking for a big love bug to join your family, then you should make an appointment to meet Bear the lab mix at Main Line Animal Rescue. This handsome guy loves playing fetch and going on long walks, and won’t mind a busy home with kids, cats, or other dogs.
